Common Date Questions
No, when calculating days between two dates, we don’t count the start date. For example, from Monday to Wednesday is 2 days (Tuesday and Wednesday). This is the standard way most people count days between dates.
The calculator automatically accounts for leap years. Leap years happen every 4 years and add an extra day to February (29 days instead of 28). The calculator knows which years are leap years and adjusts accordingly.
This calculator counts all days including weekends. For business days (Monday-Friday), you would need to manually adjust the result by subtracting weekend days, or use a specialized business day calculator.
Adding or subtracting days is useful for many situations: finding out what date is 30 days from now for a return policy, calculating when to start seeds before planting season, or determining project milestones based on a timeline.
You can calculate dates many years in the past or future. The date pickers might have some limitations based on your browser, but the calculation itself can handle very large date ranges accurately.
